just saw this MB CLK GTR AMG (yeah I had to) on Mecum and the shifter has me all sorts of confused. The best explanation I've found was that they said it looks like, for lack of better term, "a man in a boat" shifter .

Where in the world did you find a CLK GTR? And why in the world didn't you post external pictures? It's so wide you get storage containers outside the seats.

Car had a sequential transmission with paddle shift on the wheel. The console knob may be related to putting the transmission in Reverse-Neutral-Forward or some such. This is a late 90's homologation race car.

ok, now I am actually interested in how the gear clit works... Tiff did a top gear test of the car and didn't mention the engorged bulb in the room?
